BICYCLE LANE STUDY
The City Council referred the study for development of additional bicycle
lanes to the Recreation Commission to report back to the City Council
within 120 days with their preliminary report.
LIBERTY STREET RIGHT OF WAY
The City Council considered the disposition of the house and portion of
Liberty Street Right of Way between West and Cherry Streets . The 1969
Liberty Street Extension Plan called for connection between Magnolia
Avenue and Washington Street. The City Council has since amended the
Liberty Street Plan .Line to exclude the connection with Magnolia that
leaves a piece of property located between West and Cherry Streets in
City ownership that was purchased with Gas Tax Funds. The City
Council directed staff to notice the neighborhood to advise them it is the
City's intent to dispose of this property to an entity which will construct
low income housing . It was the Council's intent to shift the density
there to a higher density to accommodate this . This was continued to
the next regular meeting .
FAU REPORT
City Council made the following suggestions for additions to the Federal Aid
Urban priority list . ' D' Street between Petaluma Blvd . , and Payran; and the
intersection of Washington and McDowell. After some discussion the Council
agreed to list only the 'D' Street improvements, and to save the Washington
Street and McDowell intersection for a different project.
At 11:20 p . m . the meeting was adjourned . The remaining item on the
agenda, 'Discussion of Policy' in response to citizen requests was continued to
the next meeting .
