RESOLUTION OF THE PETALUMA CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS NOT TO EXCEED $2,500
FOR. COST OF FISCAL IMPACT REPORT
WHEREAS, the Living Wage Coalition of Sonoma County made a presentation to the
City Council regarding a living wage ordinance for Petaluma on September 20, 2004; and,
WHEREAS, the Living Wage Coalition of Sonoma County proposed to split the cost of
the fiscal impact report, estimated to be approximately $5,000, with the City of Petaluma; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is willing to share in the cost of said fiscal impact report,
and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2188 (Ordinance Appropriating Funds for the Operation of
the City of Petaluma. from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005) provides in part that changes in
relation to the appropriations from each respective departmental fund may be made by resolution
adopted by the City Council; and the City Manager may administratively make changes within
departmental appropriations, as approved, so long as the total amounts do not exceed, as a result
of the change, amounts set forth in the approved appropriation; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires that there be a re-apportionment of money within
the Council budget for contribution to the cost of the fiscal impact study and said change will be
reflected in amid-fiscal year adjustment ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Petaluma hereby authorizes the City Manager to appropriate no more than $2,100, which was
originally appropriated for City Council Education and Travel, for contribution to 1/2 of the cost
of the fiscal impact report, not to exceed $2,100.
