dealing with financial responsibility of Taxicabs, Busses and Automobiles

CLETS AGREEMENT
Reso. 87-149 NCS authorizing the Mayor or City Manager to enter into
an agreement with Sonoma County, for Law Enforcement cost sharing of
certain telecommunications services known as CLETS (California Law
Enforcement Telecommunications System) .

Reso. 87-150 NCS approving closure of Appaloosa Drive for a

removed from the Consent Calendar as Councilwoman Woolsey, asked why
this wasn't included in the_ Sunnyslope Assessment District area..
Staff's response was that the Bond Counsel and County Staff saw no
benefit to this property in connection- with the improvements which will
be going in for the Sunnyslope Annexation area.

SCHOOL TRAFFIC COMMITTEE •
The .sub :committee on .school traffic safety matters has met twice with
representatives of the Old Adobe School District and the School Site
Councils . A tentative .agreement has been reached which allocates areas
of responsibility as follows

Funding City
Currently .where are. no intersections which .meet the State's warrants for
a school crossing guard. The program .will be established for
non-warranted intersections. The City will provide .the basic data and
district will select those intersections they determine to be most
important. The City will contribute. $5., 000.00 annually to the program
in addition to the training and equipment for a one year period.

DISCUSSIQN OF CHILD . GARS FACILITIES
The..Councl . discussed. their desire to ~ have child care, facliaies :i;n the
neighborhoods.. The Council asked for an update on the. figures which
indicate the monies that have been collected by the City for.. park lands
and the ratio that have been spent on, neighborhood and. 'community
parks. It was noted that the park land- fee was. to complete a 5 acre
park surrounded by street, curb, gutter and irrigation, but not' to
include playground equipment and the like. 'After considerable
diseussion__ the Council asked staff to find out what the schools are doing
and' what the Petaluma Boys and Girls. Club is doing in connection., with
