older people .here in Petaluma interested:,in seeing a• golf course available

COUNCIL COMMENTS
Mayor Hilligoss asked .for Council volunteers to participate in a
County-wide drug enforcement committee. Michael Davis was appointed
to the committee. John Balshaw - suggested the City have a five to six
o'clock patrol of the Keller Street garage where there is no inside
lighting until ~ the light fixtures jean ~b.e •-fixed; regarding the Kentucky
Street traffic -the, solution has been addressed with staff, if there is no
_ , change _ by December 1, the Council should ..schedule this as an agenda

about the possibility of having to .have a buffer between. the smoking and
non-.smoking ,erections .of his restaurant; :inqui:red about ~ •the process to
enforce the .smoking . regulations. in liis~ :restaurant •(should ~ his employees
refuse to serve violators, should he telephone the Police Department for

MUIRWOOD GOLF COURSE AND DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT
William: ~ Sherman.,:. golf course.~~ aonsulfant, addressed the Cou•nciL. : _ He
assured .the:• Council that.. unrestricted 3 public- play at :the proposed golf
,course was essential for itssuccess .~ . City Manager John Scharer noted
the .new provision in the " proposed•:- agreement relating to Duffel
.~ construction. of the proposed 15;•000 square 'foot clubhouse within five
years, "the land will be. dedicated ~ ~ to the City of Petaluma to. construct
the clubhouse. The Council expressed.: their concerns that the golf
course lands be kept in open space in perpetuity . The Council reviewed
the various sections of the proposed agreement, approved the following
specifics •of: the .agreement: - 4 years from ~ date of _ agreement for golf
~ cour,se completion, language regard-in'g.!public play, clubhouse •language
and .staff .was authorized : tq put. the •document in final form and present
it to the Council on November 30 for introduction of the ordinance.
MARIN/SONOMA MOSQULTO ABATEMENT: DIS.TRICT~
The Council directed staff to solicit applications for the Mosquito District
Board.
