LAKEVILLE SHOPPING CENTER
Reso. 86-263 NCS approving conditional use permit for Lakeville
Shopping Center (main tenant - Lucky Stores) . Mr. James Watt of
Lucky Stores and the City Council members discussed the proposed
conditions of the use permit. The Council agreed that only one fast
food business would be permitted on the two southerly building pads and
that fast food application shall go through the City Council in the City's
review process . The architectural style of buildings on the pads must
reflect the architectural style of the main building . Introduced by .Jack
Cavanagh, seconded by Michael Davis:

YEAR END REPORT
Finance Officer Juelle-Ann Boyer provided the Council with a year-end
financial report.
BASSET STREET BUILDING ~~
CITY HALL COMPLEX
Assistant City Manager Gene Beatty reviewed the staffs' proposal to
utilize the old police facility on Bassett Street and to make related
changes in location of several City departments . The Council approved
the staffs' recommendations . The use of the modular building located
between the corner parking lot at Howard and Bassett Streets and the
old police building has not been finalized. The possibility of its use at
the municipal airport will be referred to the Airport Committee and to
staff.

FOR-MAT Members of the public who spoke at the Planning Commission
will be notified when the item they spoke on will be on the ~"Council
General Plan hearing agenda. The press will also be given the
information for .newspaper coverage prior to the meetings . Af the
meetings, the staff will present the individual proposal to the Council
pointing out the Planning Commission recommendation to the. Council..
The members of the public in attendance will then have the opportuni`ty'
to speak.. After public testimony, the City Council will consider~~ the
issue and take tentative votes on each of the issues being presented i'n
connection with the General Plan update process.
If the Council's tentative action coincides with the Planning Commission
recommendation, the matter will be placed on hold until the General Plan,
and its Environmental Impact Report have been considered in their
entirety.
If the Council's tentative action differs from t:he Planning Commission
recommendation, the action will be called a 'stra.w vote'. These will be
reconsidered at a later meeting after members of the public w.ho may be
affected by the change between .Planning Commission recommendation: and
intended Council action will have had sufficient opportunity to react to
the change.
