ADOPT BUDGET 198:6-8'Z FISCAL• YEAR ~
_Reso. 86-1 5 NCS. adopting the budget, for the fiscal year ,d.uly ~l-, ~l'986, to
June 30, 1987. ~ Prior to ,adoption of this resolution, the Councilmember,s
expressed their thoughts and questions about the budget for future years;
i.e., we should start to develop a contingency plan on where we can.. 'go
for the next four or five years without adding personnel; what would that
mean to services to the community.; what can we do to aster-.fain ~ .that we
know the long-term financial impacts of the .current development approvals;
staff is encouraged to be more proactive in initiating action to revise the
interpretation of and/or the wording of our ordinances as .economic
conditions change; are there time-consuming reports and accountings our
employees have been doing for- some time that. may now . be: duplicated by
electronic record keeping processes and therefore could. 'be phased out to
ease the staff's workload; emphasis should be on new revenues to keep
services where they should be rather than strangling ourselves.
