ORD. 1655 NCS SONOMA HIGHLANDS REZONE ••s.. .~:'.~t Adopt Ord. 1 55 NCS rezoning Sonoma Highlands to PUD..l ••$efore. the Council voted on •the ordinance, ~ there - was considerable. ~~di'scussion regarding the potential build-out of the Varnhagen and Scott,,*~properties. Planning Director Warren Salmons read a letter from a memb:er.. of the Sonoma County Planning Department suggesting alternative timing. for the construction of Victoria Drive through the Varnhagen property. It was moved by Mayor Mattei, seconded Vice Mayor Balshaw Ythat there should be 237 units in Sonoma Highlands . AYES: Cavanagh, Tencer, Vice Mayor Balshaw, Mayor Mattei ' NOES: :Davis, Woolsey ABSENT: Sobel , . , .t Custom Houses - The Council expressed . its desire that. all of the semi-custom lots be allowed to develop as custom homes in order` to Have as many custom houses as possible (custom meaning of an architectural design that is not duplicated within the subdivision, semi-custom meaning: of an architectural design that is duplicated very few times '~wthri the subdivision) . Change of ownership - Sonoma Highlands The Council noted that if there were 'a change of ownership of Sonoma Highlands, the only change in tentative 'map that would be received '.favorably by the Councl~:~.would be a reduction in density . 1 June 23, 1986 SONOMA HIGHLANDS contd. 431 Development of Varnhagen and' Scott properties - The Council also noted t~hey~.~ feel there should be - a maximum of~ 340 units (including Sonoma Highlands, Varnhagen, Scott properties) in that valley. In responding to the discussion on custom house construction, Chuck Colton, representative of BCE the developer, noted the' 175 cluster, 38 custom and remaining semi-custom homes were planned as being the least impact to and best use of the land. Representatives of the state and national programs, local and regional press, Downtown Parking and Business Improvement .Committee, supporting businesses, Downtown Merchants Committee, and ' ~~. The recording could then be a record in the event some unusual activity had occurred. RESO. 86-158 NCS POLICE FACILITY -PAGING AND RADIO MONITORS Reso. 86-158 NCS awarding contract for purchase and authorizing installation of paging and monitoring radios for new police facility to PROTEC Management Systems, 3406 D Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette, for $4,152.00 for the intercom, $1, 786.00 for the paging, radio monitors and up to a maximum of ~2, 900.00 for installation.
