Reso. 84-I84A NCS approving final subdivision map for McDowell
Meadows.

DOWNTOWN PARKING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT HEARING
Bond Counsel, Harold Rogers, reviewed the assessment district _
structure and how the assessment procedure had been figured (Zone 1
was figured at 44~/square foot, Zone 2 33~/sq. ft., and Zone 3 23~/sq.
ft. The A Street Parking lot would be expanded, the Keller Street,
Parking lot would have a 3-story garage, and the Golden Concourse.
The City Clerk read the names of persons writing. in opposition to the
district. Speakers opposed to the district were: ILWU-PMA Pension
Trust/Food City; John Torrens at 8 & 10 Keller Street; Waldman for
Golden Gate Investors/Great Petaluma Mill; Richard Haggart owner of
residential property on 5th Street; Bob Hayes -owner of parking lot at
411 B Street; Diane Campbell - owner of a 4-plex on B Street; Mrs.
Nielsen - owner of Camera Corner building (Petaluma Blvd. at B
Street) ; Herold Mahoney; Leo Lane; Vic DeCarli; Jeff Harriman.; [recess
9:45 p.m.
Bill Berliner; Jack Beasley; David Wally - Alliance Gas Station
Keller/Washington Street; Joe Gerwig, 172 Petaluma Blvd. North; Perry
Harris, 153 Kentucky; Garold Dean; Patricia Brown; David Jones -
owns 111 and 113 Kentucky; Kimball Diamond. The City Clerk read the
names of persons writing in support of the district. Speakers on
behalf of the district were: Ken Frankel; Jeff Freiberg; Don BEnnett;
Bill Gaevert : Tom Williams from the Village Shop . The hearing was
closed at 10:40 p.m.

. Staff was asked to take the .suggestions. into consideration relating to
existing parking lots and. existing .residences obtaining some relief from
the proposed assessment.
