HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 89-388 N.C.S. 12/11/1989- resolution No. 89-388 N ~.5. of the City of Petaluma, California A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE MAP FOR LAND LOCATED AT MISSION DRIVE AND MCNEAR AVENUE (OWNED BY COUNTY OF SONOMA) WHEREAS, the Petaluma City Planning Commission has reviewed a proposed amendment to the General Plan Land Use Map by the County of Sonoma and has held a public hearing thereon, and after said hearing has made recommendations on said amendments; and, . WHEREAS, the Planning Commission filed with the City Clerk its reports as set forth in its minutes of September 26, 1989, recommending adoption of the said proposed amendment; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council have held public hearings on the proposed amendments as stated below; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby makes the following fin dings : 1. The proposed amendment is deemed to be in the public interest because the community's housing supply will be enhanced and other public facilities (i.e., Veteran's Memorial Building) will be financially supplemented; 2. The proposed amendment is consistent and compatible with the rest of the General Plan, its objectives, goals, and policies, and its implementation ; 3. The potential impacts of the proposed amendment has been assessed and determined not to be detrimental to the public health, safety, or welfare due to subsequent environmental review on all future development and compatibility of the proposed land use with those of surrounding properties; 4. The requirements of California Environmental Quality Act and local environmental review guidelines have been satisfied and hereby incorporates by reference the Mitigated Negative Declaration approved by Resolution No . ~~$''1 N . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following amendment is hereby adopted and ordered incorporated on the General Plan Land Use map on file in the Office of the Community Development and Planning Department: 1. Amend the land use designation from "Public and Institutional" to "Urban Standard" for 1.4 acres of land located to the rear of the Veteran's Memorial Building, 1094 Petaluma Boulevard South (at McNear Avenue and Mission Drive), AP No. 008-471-06. A symbol designating "Proposed Park" shall be placed at or near the intersection of McNear Avenue and Mission Drive to confirm the City Council's intent to review future subdivision or development proposals on this site for an appropriate park or recreational opportunity, if any. reso .maps .vets /resolZ Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
