AND C.O.T.S. FOR USE OF BUILDINGS AT 1500 PETALUMA BOULEVARD SOUTH, 27 HOWARD STREET AND LUCCHESI SENIOR CENTER WHEREAS, P. P. S. C, and C.O.T.S. provide essential social and human services to the community; and., WHEREAS, each organization is operating on extremely limited funding; and, WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Council of the City of Petaluma to support the program activities of these organizations. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Manager is authorized to negotiate leases with each organization for space allocation as outlined below. Said leases to be submitted for Council review and approval prior to execution . 1, 5,500+ square feet of 1500 Petaluma Boulevard South for Petaluma People Services Center; 2. 5, 000+ square feet of 1500 Petaluma Boulevard South for C.O. T. S. emergency shelter for homeless families only; 3. A portion of the vacant property to the rear of the building at 1500 Petaluma Boulevard South for eventual development of transitional housing for homeless families only, including associated site improvements and manager's unit; 4. 27 Howard Street for the 1989 winter season to be used by C, O. T . S , for emergency shelter for homeless families only; 5. Lucchesi Senior Center on a shared time basis with City program use to be utilized by P. P. S. C, for a senior dining facility and associated program activities. H~~S. `~.....8 9- 3.2.8....... ~.cs. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to provide letters of intent to each organization prior to execution of leases outlining the space allocation so that the organizations may use these letters in pursuit of additional program funding. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby directed to take the steps necessary to make the National Guard Armory available for a shelter for homeless individuals for the winter months. reso.lease.agrmt/resol3 Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
