HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 89-323 N.C.S. 10/16/1989'' FZesolUtion N®. 89-323 NC.S. of the City of Petaluma, California APPROVING ISSUANCE OF A NEGATIVE DECLARATION PURSUANT TO CEQA FOR CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE MAPS AND TEXT OF THE 1987-2005 PETALUMA GENERAL PLAN WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended issuance of a Negative Declaration pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for certain amendments to the maps and text of the 1987-2005 Petaluma General Plan reviewed and acted upon by the Commission at its meetings of December 13, 1988 and January 10, 1989; and, WHEREAS, an initial study has been prepared for the amendments and has been reviewed by the Community Development and Planning Department; and WHEREAS, the results of this study have indicated that approval of these amendments will not trigger any significant adverse environmental impacts; and, WHEREAS, staff and the Planning Commission have recommended that a Negative Declaration be issued on the proposed amendments; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the issuance of said Negative Declaration pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act is hereby approved, based upon the following findings: 1. The amendments do not have the potential to degrade the quality of the environment, substantially reduce the habitat of a fish or wildlife species, cause a fish or wildlife population to drop below self-sustaining levels, threaten to eliminate a plant or animal community, reduce the habitat of a fish or wildlife species, cause a fish or wildlife population to drop below self-sustaining levels, threaten to eliminate a plant or animal community, reduce the number or restrict the range of a rare or endangered plant or animal or eliminate important examples of the major periods of California history or prehistory. 1 K~~s. The amendments do not have impacts which are individually limited, but cumulatively considerable. 4.
