FZeS®IUtIOn No. s9-213 N C.~. of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION APPROVING ISSUANCE OF A MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION PURSUANT TO CEQA FOR THE CREATION OF KEOKUK HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION LOCATED ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF KEOKUK AND CHERRY STREETS, AP NO. 006-021-04 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended issuance of a Mitigated Negative Declaration pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for a proposal to create a seven-lot residential subdivision on the northwest corner of Keokuk and Cherry Streets.; and WHEREAS, an initial study which noted archeological, traffic, drainage, and grading impacts to existing trees has been prepared for the project and has been reviewed by the Community Development and Planning Department; and WHEREAS, the results of this study have indicated that conditional approval of this project will not trigger any significant adverse environmental impacts; and, WHEREAS, staff and the Planning Commission have recommended that a mitigated negative declaration be issued on the above project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the issuance of said Negative Declaration pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act is hereby approved, based upon the following findings: 1. The project, as conditionally approved, does not have the potential to degrade the quality of the environment, substantially reduce the habitat of a fish or wildlife species, cause a fish or wildlife population to drop below self-sustaining levels, threaten to eliminate a plant or animal community, reduce the habitat of a fish or wildlife species, cause a fish or wildlife population to drop below self-sustaining levels, threaten to eliminate a plant or animal community, reduce the number or restrict the range of a rare or endangered plant or animal or eliminate important examples of the major periods of California history or prehistory.
