HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2004-160 N.C.S. 09/13/2004 resolution No.2004-160 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION AWARDING THE SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT TO PURCHASE PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT FROM ROSS RECREATION EQUIPMENT OF SANTA ROSA, WITH THE ROTARY CLUB TO REIMBURSE THE CITY, AS THEIR BICENTENNIAL GIFT TO THE CITY OF PETALUMA WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma must bring all city playgrounds into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act; and, WHEREAS, Walnut Park is one of the city playgrounds needing to be brought into compliance with the ADA; and, WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Petaluma has successfully contributed to the City of Petaluma over the years, most recently with the replacement of the Playground at McNear Park; and, WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Petaluma, as part of their bicentennial gift to the City of Petaluma, has offered to replace the playground in Walnut Park and paint park equipment and the gazebo; and, WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Petaluma and the Mother's Club of Petaluma have been working with Ross Recreation Equipment of Santa Rosa regarding the design of the new playground for Walnut Park; and, WHEREAS, the replacement equipment is a new style that is not provided by other vendors. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Petaluma City Council does hereby award the contract to purchase and install playground equipment for Walnut Park to Ross Resolution No. 2004-160 N.C.S. Recreation Equipment of Santa Rosa at a contract amount of $60,396, as a sole source, and authorizes the City Finance Director to issue a purchase order for the project. BE IT FURTHER RES®LVED that the Petaluma City Council does hereby commend the Rotary Club of Petaluma for its gracious offer to improve Walnut Park, one of the city's oldest and more popular parks. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
