RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SINCERE THANKS FROM THE
CITY OF PETALUMA TO THE CITY OF SONOMA AND ITS
POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE USE, OF A POLICE CAR
BELONGING TO THE CITY OF SONOMA.

WHEREAS,, the PoliceDepartment of the,City of Petaluma lost by
accident the use of one of its police cars and was faced with the possibility of being
without one of its police cars for a period of approximately two months; and
WHEREAS, the. City gf Sonoma through its Police Department and
7 its City Council offered at v rtually?cost to the City,of P,etaluma;,a substitute vehicle
which,was adapted for, police patrol work, and thls.City didruserfor a period of 5
weeks a police car belonging,to the°City of Sonoma'tfierebypermitting the Police
Department of the City of Petaluma to operate efficiently and maintain its patrol
duties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the sincere gratitude and appreciation;of this Council, the
Police Department of this City, and the citizens of Petaluma be tendered to the City
of Sonoma and to its Police Department and Staff for its generous assistance in
permitting the City of Petaluma to use one of its police patrol cars during the time
a Petaluma.car was out of commission thereby allowing this City to maintain proper
police protection for its citizens; and
2. That a certified copy of this Resolution which expresses the
sincere gratitude of the people of this City of Petaluma, the officers and employees
of the City'of Petaluma, be it forwarded to the City of Sonoma,
