RESOLUTION ADOPTING GENERAL 'PLAN AS MODIFIED BY I
THE PLANNING COMMISSION SAND THE CITY COUNCIL;
DIRECTING- THE GENERAL PLAN BE ENDORSED TO SHOW
ITS ADOPTION AND DIRECTING THAT CERTIFIED COPIES
OF THIS RESOLUTION BE FORWARDED TO THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF SONOMA C}7UNTY.

Regular Meeting of the City Council of `the City of Petaluma;on the 5th day
of March , 1962.
WHEREAS; the firm of Ilivingston and Blayney has presented 'to this
City a General Plan including textual matters„ reports, and maps; and
it
' WHEREAS, the' requisite hearings:have been held as required) by law;

WHEREAS, after hearings, thi'sCity finds that the General Plan
including; textual matters; :reports, and maps•should.be Modified as hereinafter
set forth and as so modified should be a.dopted;, '
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE, IT RESOLVED that'the General Plan as
submitted 'including all textual matters,. reports, and maps be adopted as herein-.

after modified,as the:General Plan of this City. The 'modifications to be,a part of
the General Plan as herein adopted are as follows:
I. Revised boundary of :Retail and Office Commercial'
as shown on Exhibit 'ID° and "Medium Density Res-
idential" area in the 'Vicinity`of Petaluma Boulevard
South and Sixth Street southerly from"D" Street, I
2, Extend "Service and Thoroughfare Commercial" east
of. Petaluma Boulevard North northerly' to Sonoma
Mountain Road Extension.
3, Substitute 'Medium Density Residential" for "Retail
and Office Commercial" at corner of Ely Road and
East Washington Street.
4. Enlarge "Retail and Office Commercial on,easterly
.corner of'East Washington Street and'South McDowell.
Boulevard to 35 acres. ,
5. Substitute l2-acre "Retail and'Office Commercial"
for "Medium Density Residential" at the northeasterly
corner Of Petaluma-Napa Expressway (Lakeville High-
way) and New Street.

6. Substitute 12-acre "Retaihand Office Commercial" for
"Medium Density Residential" at. the westerly corner
of East Washington Street and North McDowell Boulevard. '
7. Substitute "Medium .Density Residential" for "Retail
and Office Commercial" at the southerly corner of
New Street and South McDowell Boulevard;
8. Substitute "Medium Density Residential" for "Retail
and Office Commercial" on "I" ;Street; Extension.
9. Substitute "Limited Industrial" for'Recreation Park
on McNear Peninsula.
10. Extend "Low Density Residential" development westerly
to a line 300 feet beyond Lohrman Lane from Skillman
Lane to Spring Hill Road,
11, Substitute Mountain View Avenue Purrington Road
route for McNear. Avenue Extension;.
12, Delete Laurel Street Extension between'Magnolia Avenue
and Bodega Avenue.
13. Add Gossage Avenue, o Paula Lane route to connect
Bodega Avenue with Petaluma Boulevard North.

14. Realign and extend Magnolia Avenue from Gossage
Avenue westerly to intersect Bodega Avenue.
15. Realign and extend Chapman Lane to connect Spring
Hill Road and "D" Street.
16. Revise alignment of loop road in south. "General In-
dustrial Area" to approach within 250 feet and parallel
to the Petaluma River.
17. Petaluma Cooperative Creamery and immediate adja-
cent area be designated "Industrial,"
18. The East Side of Olds Highway 101 between Willow
Creek and the Highway, from Cinnabar Road to
Willow Creek Bridge be designated "Highway'Com-
merci.al."
19. The Hein:Quarry be designated "industrial,"
20. A 200-foot strip along both sides of Old Highway 101
North from Willow Creek to Denman Interchange be
designated "Commercial,"
The following endorsement shall appear on the General Plan Map:
(a) "Land use symbols and proposed road alignments.
shown are not intended to indicate specific parcels,
boundaries, and right-of-way locations;"
(b) "Re' idePtta'L area density symbols shown are not
intended to restrict d'ensitybf development on
specific properties,, but are predicted average
densities within the ,entire designated area.
(c) Neighborhood convenience facilities are to be and
shall be considered has though they were designated
"Commercial" on the General Plan Map,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City'Clerk, be, and she: is,
hereby directed to endorse on the General Plain map the fact of its adoption by this
Resolution and affix her official seal thereto..
BE IT FURTHER ,RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution
and all other pertient data concerned with the General Plan be forwarded to :the
Board of Supervisors for their action.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of
the City of Petaluma, on the 5th day of March ,
1962, by the following vote.
