RESOLUTION APPOINTING MRS. ARLINE DEVINE
ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER; SPECIFYING HER DUTIES
AND AUTHORITY; AND LIMITING THE APPOINTMENT
TO THE TIME THAT AN .OFFICIAL REPLACEMENT FOR
LAWRENCE W. LARSON jH AS BEEN MADE.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 2930 N. C. S., Everett A.
Matzen has been appointed Acting City Manager during the absence of Lawrence W.
Larson and during the time that 'this City is without a replacement for Lawrence W.
' Larson, resigned; and
WHEREAS, the duties of the City Manager require many routine daily
activities which are time consuming and which are capable of being handled by Mrs.
Arline Devine, Administrative Assistant to the City Manager; and
WHEREAS, such routine activities normally require the signature and
approval of the City Manager and are notkwithin, the authority of the Administrative
Assistant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Mrs. Arline Devine, be,
and she is, hereby appointed;Assistant City.Manager`with the duties and responsi-
bilities of,assisting the Acting City Manager•in carrying'but any duties he may pre-
scribe and all matters concerned ithspuzchasing-ormaterials and supplies for the
• City of Petaluma with authority to, sign payroll warrants and other such documents
normally 'requiring the signature of the City Manager until such time as a successor
to Lawrence W. Larson, recently resigned City Manager, is appointed and takes
office; and
BE IT FURTHER. RESOLVED that Mrs. Arline Devine, be, and'she
is, hereby authorized to carryon all normal and routine office procedures of the
Office of City Manager;
under the power'and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City. i
