Resolution No. s8-342 N.C.S.
of the City of Petaluma, California
RESOLUTION APPROVING "GOALS AND TIMETABLES"
FOR THE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLAN FISCAL YEAR 1988-89
WHEREAS, this City Council has approved the Affirmative
ActiDn P]an by Resolution No. 7001 N . C . S . ; and,.
WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish annual goals and
timetables therefore,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this council
hereby adopts the goals and timetables for the fiscal year 1988-89 contained
in Exhibit A, attached herein and incorporated herein as if fully set forth.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.

GOAL: 'P,lace one Spanish surname employee intro the position of

RESULT; Accomplished
ANALYSIS : Four officers were. hired -all: were white males . One
existing officer was reclassified from non tracked try .Spanish
surname after review .
GOAL: -Place one female 'in the position of Maintenance Worker.
RESULT: Not accomplished,..
ANALYSIS: T.lie two people hired tb fill vacancies. were both white male.
GOAL: Place one female in the position of Park Maintenance Worker.
RESULT: Not accomplished..
ANALYSIS: No hires were made in this category.
O'T HEAR : In addition , to these goals,,. the City gained minorities in
other areas. The. Fire Department 'hired a Spanish surname
as a Firefighter/:Paramedic:, as one of: .four hired; the
RecreatiDn Department hired a Spanish surname as
Secretary;, and the .Engineering Department hired a S„parish,
surname: as an Engineering' Technician. Professional females
were hired. in the classes of Program Coordinat-Ar, Assistant
:Planner and RecreatiDn Program Coordinatpr. Additionally a
Spanish surname .female was promoted from a clerical position
to that of a Supervisory category.
