R ESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION
OF COU,N.CILMAII JOHN J. KING'.

Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Petaluma on the 2 1st day
of May , 1962.
WHEREAS;. on July t'i, 1959 Mr. King entered into the office

of Councilman, having been elected by the people of the City of Petaluma for the
term ending, June 30, 1963.
WHEREAS, during his terms of office as Councilman for the City of
Petaluma, he has served on .many Commissions and committees and last of which as
the Council representative;on the Planning. Commission. His service on the Planning
Commission and other Commissions and committees, too numerous to mention; was
marked by his devotion to the problems of this City which he solved resolutely and
sincerely, having in mind at all Times the best interests of the people of the City
of Petaluma.
WHEREAS, the success of the Planning Commission in' its padt works,
and other committees on which Councilman King served was,due 'in no small (respect
to his devoted efforts. His unfailing courtesy'and his ability and superior judgment
made him a reputation.as a most conscientious and sincere public servant.
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes its severe loss to its imember
ship and will sorely miss the great ability that he brought to this body; it is there-
fore with great regret that;the Council acts upon, the formal letter of resignation of
John J. King filed with the City Council on the,21st day of May, 1962.
NOW, THEREFORE, BRIT RESOLVED that the resignation of John
J. King, as a member of the City Council, be, and the same is, hereby regretfully
accepted as of the 21st day of May, 1962.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council expresses the,
appreciation of this entire City for the faithful, untiring and unselfish service
rendered by this outstanding citizen for the past fifteen years, and that as a
tribute to this service the Mayor, be, and he is, hereby directed to procure
and present to Mr. King a suitable plaque as a token of appreciation for those
services.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of
the City of Petaluma, on the 21st day of May
1962, by the following vote.
