HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 88-390 N.C.S. 12/19/1988,,4~ Resolution No. 88-390 NC.s. of the City of Petaluma, California Q~:~~~1999 ~ DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS AND RESULTS OF THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL AND PETALUMA HIGH SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS HELD NOVEMBER 8, 1988 WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION WHEREAS, the Petaluma City Council adopted Resolution No. 88-251 NCS requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Sonoma to consolidate the Regular Municipal and Petaluma High School Board Elections dated July 18, 1988; and WHEREAS, the. following questions were referred to the voters at the Regular Municipal Election: CITY OF PETALUMA MEASURE G SHALL SECTION 63.5 OF THE CHARTER BE AMENDED TO READ: 6.3.5 Utility users tax prohibited. Neither the City Council of the City of Petaluma nor any of its officers, agents or employees shall levy, impose or collect a tax upon the use in the City of Petaluma by any residential user, business user, industrial user or any other user, of telephone communication services whether intrastate or interstate, electrical energy, gas, water, garbage, cable television or any other use of utilities by residents of Petaluma"? WHEREAS, the Regular Municipal Election was held in the City of Petaluma on November 8, 1988; and, WHEREAS, the votes from said election were received and canvassed by the Sonoma County Elections Department (Exhibit A to this resolution), and the returns thereof were ascertained and declared in all respects as required by law: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Petaluma as follows: (1) The City Clerk is hereby instructed to enter this Resolution on the minutes of this meeting as a statement of the result of said election; (2) The total number of ballots cast in the City at said Regular Municipal Election was as follows: Res.
