HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 88-219 N.C.S. 07/05/1988~ .; r~ - Resolution No. 8s-219 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PETALUMA COMMUNITY CENTER POI_iCY, FEE SCHEDULE AND APPLICATION FORM l~JNF_REAS, the Petaluma Community Center is scheduled to be completed towards the latter part of August, and WHEREAS, it 15 the intention to rent out the facility or portions thereof-, hoth as a community service and a5 a revenue generator to offset bu~.lding and mainterlar~ce costs, and WHEREAS, staff has developed a Community Center Use Policy, Fee Schedule and Application Farm for the Petaluma Communit:y Center, and WHEREAS, the Recreation, Music and Parks Commission has unani.mous.l.y approved recommending the Policy, Fee Schedule and Farm to the City Counr_il. SETUPS/CLEAPlUP RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Center staff w:i'11 ensure that the fac°i:'lity is ready for use .and will set up tables and chairs to your specfi.r_ations within department guidelines. 2. Setup speci.ficat,ions for' table and chairs,sho,uld he submitted at least three days prior to the event. 3. A1.1 additionaa setups or decorations are the responsibility of the permttee. The removal o~f these setups 'or dec'oratio.ns is also the r.esponsi:blity of th"e p.erm,ittee. 4. All. decoratior-s~musa be approved by the department in advance and set. up under dep'artmena supervision. DRAFTING TAPE is the only means of attaching~dec.orattions. Helium balloons must be anchored. Some decor.at ions may requ: re f i::re ;proof i.ng . S. The permittee is responsible for clearing all tables and for' placing a.l'°1 garbage in refuse cans. ' 6. The payment of aal fees listed. on th_e face of this permit must be made at least 30 c,a,lendar days ..in advance of the schediYled use. Failure to mee thi-5 deadline may result: `n r_ancellation of fhe permit and forfeiture of any reserva~t~on; deposit. 2. Payments .must be made in one of the fo.l'low.ing forms: Certified Check, Money Order, Organizational Check, Cash. .No .personal checks shall be accepted. 3. For some permits, a greater deposit amount is required. This shall be used •to c'over additional fees `for exceeeding permitted tame, damage to the 'facility or equipment, or additional cleanup needs. Any publication of the pr"reposed activity for which this permit is desired, which occurs Prior to the permit being granted, shall cause the permit- fig be 'denied. 4. The City makes no warranty as to the safety and usability of any facility beyond that afforded the general public. 2. AT1 persons,. groups;, and organizations shawl agree to hold the City.,.. its electx;e and appointive boards, commissions,, officers, agents., and'employees.harmless from a_n.y liability for damages and .claims for damages for personal injury i'ncludi.ng death as well as from claims for property damage which might arise from the use of the recreation centers, pools, o.r furni:shimgs... 3. A11 persons, groups, and organizations .using City facilities shall file evidence of insurance in an amount not less than X500,000 for property damage and public liability naming the City of Petaluma, its Elective Board, officers and a-,gen:t as additional insured with the Parks and Rec,rea'tion Department at l.eas:t 30 days in advance of anticipated use. Persons unable 'to secure insurance coverage through their carriers may inquire at the Department office about a policy available at an additional fee. ;y SECI~d I TY /CklAPERONES 1.. Parks and Recrea;t•i~n Department personnel at least one week prior to the event -and must incli,ide each chaperone's 'address and phone number. 2. Where applicable, t;hP:P~rks and l3ecreati~ri,De"partment may require that a permittee,hire special security for a permit. A copy of the contract w:itl the security company must be submitted at least one week in advance. 3. Any damage. or loss `to facility or eq-lipmefit is the responsihi l i'ty of the Permittee. The p,erm_ittee shall be .liable for all costs for restoring, repl.acemen't, damage or loss.
