HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 88-082 N.C.S. 03/21/1988r FzeSOlution No. 88-82 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California ESTABLISHING 1989 DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES WHEREAS, the City's growth management system requires the City Council to set Development Objectives each year for applicable new residential projects; and, WHEREAS, the purpose of Development Objectives is to pro-actively inform the development community of the City's expectations for new residential projects subject to the growth management system; and, WHEREAS, the Development Objectives are advisory and not binding on any project; however, project's compliance with said Development Objectives may be used by the City Council as a means of determining the number of allocations a project may receive in years when. the demand for allocations exceeds their availability; and, WHEREAS, the Development Objectives are not intended to supersede the policies of the Petaluma General Plan, and that all residential projects are expected from the outset to satisfy those policies applicable to the project. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Petaluma City Council hereby sets the following Development Objectives for the 1989 Calendar year: 1. Alternative housing projects such as modular or self-help cooperatives are encouraged. 2. Projects that contribute to the provision of neighborhood child care facilities or services are encouraged. 3. Efficient land use patterns and clustering of development to preserve site features or provide more useable open space should be used whenever possible. Rcs. No. .. o~o..-.c,7.2......... N.G.S. `, 4. 3oint development of adjoining smaller parcels is encouraged when it will result in a better overall project design. 5. Quality building design, including wrap around treatments, are encouraged. 6. Projects in the Urban Diversified (up to 10 du/ac) or Urban High (up to 15 du/ac) General Plan land use categories should provide private open space, recreation facilities or public open space maintained by a landscape assessment district for the benefit of its residents when dedicated public recreation facilities are not required as a condition of approval. 7.
