RESOLUTION AMENDING CLASSIFICATION PLAN TO ESTABLISH A
NEW POSITION CLASSIFICATION OF PROGRAM COORDINATOR
AND DESIGNATING IT TO UNIT 4, (PROFESSIONAL)
BE IT RESOLVED that the Classification Plan and Compensation
Plan as originally adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 6118 N . C . S . , as
amended, and the classification titles and specifications as adopted by
Resolution. No. 7054 N . C . S . , are hereby amended by establishing a
classification of Program Coordinator, (as attached heretA and marked
Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof) .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this action is taken pursuant to
Personnel Code 2.04.020 and Personnel Rules and Regulations (Rule IV ,
Section 5) for classifications included in the Competitive Service of the
Personnel System, that the notice of this action -has been properly posted
and that the City Manager recommends this action.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Resolution No. 7054
N . C . S . , as amended, is hereby amended to include establishment of the
classification of Program Coordinator and assigning this classification to Unit
4 (Professional) , effective January 4, 1988, at a salary range of $12.40 -
$15.06 per hour.

administrative duties and coordination associated with .various City programs
and special projects; and to do related work as required.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assists in preparation., coordination and administration of grants and
alternative funding _ sources. Maintains liaison with acid responds to
inquiries by other departments., .agencies -.arid the pub7.ic. Prepares
correspondence and ,makes analytical studies and .reports with evaluations
and recommendations. Oversees transit operations'. As'"silts in, preparation
of the annual budget, ',programs of servile', annual ,report, agenda items and
other .reports-. Attends City Council, Commission or meetings of other
groups on administrative, matters. Performs other. duties as required.
EMPLOYMENT STAND;ARD:S
Ed, ucation and Experience:; Any, combination equivalent to graduation from
co]lege or university. with a degree in public. or business administration or a
related field.. Two years of experience in~ w.'ork involving a variety of
management activities 'and operations.
Knowledge of: The :principles and practices; of: municipal government;
statistical. and research methods and procedures;; organization functions and
activities of City departments and ser-vices, including contract
administration; governmental budgeting.:. '
Ability to: Analyze adm~r~istrative .problems and methods, budgetary
requests and. a variety of systems- or operational procedures; prepare,
present and interpret' factual data and conclusions; in written, graphite and
verbal form and make recommendations; establish and maintain effective
working relationships with .others.
