Glass 39 40 Katherine Bobrowski, Petaluma, spoke of the problems at the mobile home park where she lives. 41 42 Mayor Glass 43 44 REPORT OUT OF CLOSED SESSION (ACTIONS TAKEN) 45 46 City Attorney Danly, noting that this report is not required under the Brown Act in accordance 47 with Government Code Section 54957.1, announced that Council had asked him to report that 48 they had given direction during Closed Session to pay the demand that has been issued by the 49 Department of Finance for payment of fund balance of the former Petaluma Community 50 Development Commission of $8,750,816 that is pursuant to the state law dissolving 51 redevelopment agencies throughout the state. The Department issued that payment demand 52 following a meet-and-confer that was held at the City's request. The City had requested the Vol. 46, Page 352 May 20, 2013 1 meet-and-confer session as a further effort to explain the long-standing and binding nature of 2 commitments of the City as Successor Agency to fund critical, local infrastructure projects, the 3 East Washington and Old Redwood Highway interchanges that are part of the Highway 101 4 widening project, and which are currently under way. The purpose of the Council's direction to 5 pay the disputed amount is to obtain a certificate of completion under the redevelopment 6 dissolution law, to permit the City to spend its bond proceeds issued for the purpose of funding 7 these infrastructure projects, and to help those projects proceed and be completed on 8, schedule. 9 10 Mayor Glass 11 12 1.
