Home My WebLink AboutResolutions 87-303 N.C.S. 10/19/1987Resolution No. 87-303 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California FUEL EFFICIENT TRAFFIC SIGNAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM GRANT APPLICATION WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma recognizes that it is in the interest of the national economy to promote the conservation of energy resources and to reduce our nation's dependence on costly foreign oil; and, WHEREAS, fuel efficient traffic signal management by the City of Petaluma will provide benefits to the local community in the form of improved traffic flow, reduced fuel consumption, reduced vehicle operating casts, reduced air pollutant emissions, and improved safety due to smoother flow; and WHEREAS, funds have been established and are available through the California Department of Transportation for grants to local governments for efficient traffic signal management projects. NOW, therefore, be it resolved that the City of Petaluma City Council authorizes the submittal of an application to the California Department of Transportation for a Fuel Efficient Traffic Signal Management grant and the Traffic +Engineer of the City of Petaluma is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Petaluma all necessary applications, contracts, and agreements to implement and carry out the purposes specified in this resolution. fetsim Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
