HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 87-304 N.C.S. 10/19/1987R~SDIL.1t10Y1 No. 87-304 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California DECLARING REVISIONS TO TRAFFIC SIGNAL TIMING CATAGORICALLY EXEMPT FROM CEQA WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma endeavors to provide safe and efficient traffic circulation; and WHEREAS, the City Traffic Engineer recommends coordinating traffic signal timing on certain major arterial streets to achieve more efficient traffic flow for the greatest number of vehicles without loss of safety, and WHEREAS, said action is ministerial in nature, will have no possible adverse effect to the environment or community, but rather acts as a mitigation to increasingly awkward and inefficient traffic flow; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby declares the coordination of traffic signal timing to be statutorily and categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) of 1970, as amended., pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Sections 15268 (Ministerial Actions) , 15301 (operation, maintenance, and minor alteration to existing public facilities and mechanical equipment), 15302 (Replacement or Reconstruction of Existing Facilities), and 15306 (Information Collection). reso. traf[fiQ9si~~ve~i~eih~~8onferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
