MJA:cw 7-15-87 of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION APPROVING "GOALS AND TIMETABLES" FOR THE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLAN FISCAL YEAR 1987-88 WHEREAS, this City .Council has approved the Affirmative Action Plan by Resolution No. 7001 N . C . S . ; and, WHEREAS, it is necessary to estab]ish annual goals and timetables therefor, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Council hereby adopts the goals and timetables for the fiscal year 1987-88 contained in Exhibit A, attached heretA and incorporated herein as if fully set forth. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the_Charter of said City. CA 10-85 Res. No.....8.Z-.2.8:2....... N.C.S. SECTION IV ANALYSIS OF FY '86-87 GOALS GOAL: Place one Spanish surname employee into the position of Police Officer. RESULT: Not accomplished. ANALYSIS: Eight officers were hired - all .were white males. GOAL: Place .one female in the position of'.Mant,enance Worker. RESULT: Not accomplished. ANALYSIS: The four people hired to fill vacancies were all whi e male. GOAL: Place one female in the position of .Park Maintenance Worker. RESULT: Not accomplished. ANALYSIS: Three h"fires were made in this ca egory. All were white males. An offer of employment was made to a white female but it was not accepted. The Parks and Recreation Department made a good-faith effort in attempting to meet this goal. In addition to these goals, the City lost two minorities this past year.: One rewired and one left for other employment. One minority was hired to fill a vacant position in the Building Maintenance Division but left. after one day to return to his former position. Ot-her efforts outside the above; goals.resulfed in the reclassification of one female into mid-management~n the City Manager's O'ffice to the position of Information Systems Administrator. ,GOALS AND TIMETABLES' OF FY 87=88 The FY.86-87 ;goals should be carried over to•fiscal year 87-88.
