HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 87-156 N.C.S. 06/01/1987~F Resolution No. 87-156 N.C.S. of the City of Pet~luma, Californi~ A RESOLUTION MAKING APPLICATION TO LAFCO TO INITIATE PROCEEDINGS FOR REORGANIZATION OF REDWOOD BUSINESS PARK II (VICINITY OF OLD REDWOOD HIGHWAY AT WILLOW BROOK CREEK) PURSUANT TO THE CORTESE/KNOX LOCAL GOVERNMENT REORGANIZATION ACT OF 1985 AND DETACHING SAID PROPERTY FROM PENNGROVE FIRE DISTRICT WHEREAS, the annexation of portions of Redwood Business Park II was considered by the Petaluma Planning Commission and by the City Council on April 20, 1987 and during a duly advertised public hearing on June 1, 1987; BE IT RESOLVED, pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act - 1977 (Government Code 35000 et seq) this City Council hereby applies to the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) of Sonoma County for a proposed change of organization as follows: 1. The Annexation shall consist of : "Inclusion in the corporate boundaries of the City of Petaluma territory described as Assessor's Parcel No's 007-421-07 and 047-211-12." 2. Said territory is uninhabited. 3. Said territory is comprised of 42.8 acres (see #8 below) . 4. A description of said territory is attached hereto as an exhibit. 5. The reasons for this proposal are: Property is contiguous to the City and within the City's adopted Sphere of Influence, and owner wishes to develop at City densities in conformance with the City General Plan. 87-156 tz<,s. vo ..............._.............. ~.C.s. . 6. The owner of land within said territory has requested said annexation . 7. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Executive Office of the LAFCO of the County of Sonoma. 8. The property has been prezoned to Planned Community District (PCD) and Floodplain Combining (FP-C) by the City of Petaluma. 9. Annexation of this property necessitates its automatic detachment from the Penngrove Fire District. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
