RESOLUTION URGING ALL RESI"DENTS OF VOTING AGE TO
REGISTER FOR THE NOVEMBER ELECTION ,

the City Council of the City of Petaluma on the 4th day of September 196 2
wxm mpty # WHEREAS ,. it is the right 'and the duty of all Americans
toparticipate in their government ;
WHEREAS , an estimated 2 , 000 , 000 Californians are still
not registered to 'vote in the `November elections;

WHEREAS , tins body deems it important to focus
attention on the importance of registration and the right to vote ;
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED that the first two
weeks of September, up to the close of the registration period, be
proclaimed "Registration Month in the' City, of Petaluma, "
BE ITT FURTHER RESiOLVED that this body urges all
resid"ents of voting age to register s'o that they may be eligible to cast
their ballot in November.
