'RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO SUBMIT T_ THE
ELECTORS AT THE REGULAR ELECTION, JUNE 11,
1963, A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE 9 OF
THE CITY CHARTER

Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of`Petaluma on the 25th day of
March , 1963,

BE IT RESOLVED,'THAT the City Council intends to submit to the
electors of the City of Petaluma at the reIgular election to be held in said City on
June 11, 1963, the following measure, tot wit:
• "Section 63,_ ;Limit of tax4levy.
a. During the month of September of each year, the Council shall
levy such a tax as may be _necessary to raise revenue for the maintenance of the City
and the. several •departments of the City,. Except as herein otherwise provided the
said levy shall not exceed one dollar and;fifty cents for each one hundred dollars of
assessed valuation as the same appears upon the assessment roll.
b, There shall,be levied and collected at the same time and in the
same manner as other property taxes for municipal purposes are levied and collected,

the following additional taxes: 1

1. . A tax sufficient to meet all liabilities of the City for .principal and
. interest, of all bonds or judgments,, due or unpaid or to become due during the ensuing°
fiscal year, which constitute general obligations of the City;
2, - A tax sufficient to pay‘the costs of the operation of the public library
not to exceed L cents.on .each one hundred dollars of assessed valuation 'as the
same appears upon the assessment roll.
. '3. , A tax sufficient to pay the costs of the park and recreational

facilities not, to exceed S J cents on each one hundred dollars of assessed
valuation as the same appears 'upon the assessment-roll, "
I hereby certify 'afar the foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the 'Council of
the City of Petaluma, on the 25th day of March ,
1963, by the-following vote
