RESOLUTION SUPPORTING FORMATION OF THE
SUNNY5LOPE ASSESSMENT DISTRICT AND RESPONDING TO
QUESTIONS RAISED BY THE COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
WHEREAS the County Director of Public Works made a presentation to the
City Council concerning the County~s desire to form an Assessment District
to provide public improvements in the Sunnyslope Avenue/Sunnyslope Road
area, and
WHEREAS several points raised by the presentation require response from
the City to permit the County to finalize its work,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the City of Petaluma supports in
concept the formation of the Sunnyslope Assessment District, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. The City Council supports modified roadway development standards for
Sunnyslope Road including on- or off-street bike lanes, sidewalk on
one side, no on-street parking, two twelve foot travel lanes, reduced
right-of-way to minimize dedication requirements.
2. That no City Rule 20A Utility Undergrounding funds shall be committed
to the County portion of the project area in support of this project.
3. That Annexation Impact Fees normally due the City shall be waived for
all existing residential units in the assessment district in the event the
area is annexed to the City after formation of the assessment district.
It is understood that approximately $190, 000 in fees will be waived.
4. That it is the intent of the City that in the event further major
residential development occurs in the I Street corridor particularily on

lands south of the existing Westridge neighborhood, said development
will be responsible for roadway reconstruction of the center
twenty-four (24) foot portion of Sunnyslope Road.
5. Be it further resolved that it is the intent of the City to support
granting exterritorial jurisdiction to Sonoma County for any properties
within the current City Limits which also lie in the assessment district
if the County formally requested such jurisdiction.
