Meetin paused for before Public Comment to allow for a five minute recess
Meeting Resumed and Public Comment Opened
Ray Johnson, lives op Eastside, supports the project, spoke about weighing the benifits of the project against the
impacts, no project is perfect, we have the need for the revenue.
Dave Liberitz, lives on Wilson Street, spoke about the hydrology of the site and how it has historically flooded.
Read from the hydrology report and disputes the accuracy of the FEIR.
Onita Pellegrini, CEO of Area Petaluma Chamber of Commerce, supports the project, certification of EIR, sales tax
and jobs are linking out of Petaluma, we support Deer Creek.
Jeff Mayne, lives Garfield on Eastside, here to express his personal oppinion not here representing any organization,
supports the project. Protectionism is not a good thing competition is a good thing. Applicant has been responsive to
public comment, and have incorporated suggestions into their project.
Damon Calegari, Petaluma resident,President of the Engineering Contractor Association. Spoke in favor of the
project,it will provide much needed tax reveune and new jobs needed in Petaluma.
Anthy O'Brien, representing the Petaluma Chamber, Chair of the Economic Development Committee. Spoke in
support of the DEIR and the Deer Creek project bringing jobs and revenue much needed in Petaluma.
Darryl Paris, Petaluma resident, licensed General Contractor. Spoke_about the need for a building supply center in
Petaluma so he doesn't have to drive outside of town to buy supplies.
Mary Glarden, lives on Rusmore Ave across from the project. Spoke about how the developer hasn't worked with
the neighborhood. Would like to request a continuance in order to study the document. Stated that are many missing
things in the EIR: endangered species, city well, noise factor, whether Rainer is considered. Would like a new date
selected for the City Council meeting due to the religious holiday.
Monica Soiland, Petaluma resident for 41 years, works for Midstate Construction, finds the applicant very
responsive and supports the project.
