APPROVING A PLANNED USE OF EXPENDING 2008-09 PROPOSITION IB
LOCAL STREETS AND ROADS FUNDS, AMENDING THE 2009-10 BUDGET
TO INCLUDE THE PROTECTED LEFT -TURN SIGNAL UPGRADE AND THE
PETALUMA 2010 VARIOUS STREETS REHABILITATION PROJECTS, AND
AUTHORIZING BUDGET TRANSFERS
WHEREAS, 2008-09 Proposition I B Local Streets and Roads Improvement Funds have
been appropriated to the City of Petaluma for the purpose of local streets and roads projects in
the amount of $847,322.03; and,
WHEREAS, the Crinella Drive Reconstruction Project No. C00501108 has been
allocated approximately $223,258 of Proposition 1 B Local Streets and Roads Improvement
Funds, leaving approximately $650,064 available for other projects; and,
WHEREAS, to utilize funds, City Council must approve a planned use of the
Proposition I B Local Streets and Roads Funds, as determined by the State Controller's Office,
and submit to the State Department of Finance during the annual update; and,
WHEREAS, the planned use for the Proposition 1 B Local Street and Roads Funds must
be included in the City of Petaluma 2009-10 budget; and,
WHEREAS, City Staff has derived a plan for the use of the Proposition I B Local Streets
and Roads Funds allocation through two additional projects: Protected Left -turn Signal Upgrade
and the Petaluma 2010 Various Streets Rehabilitation; and,
WHEREAS, the Protected Left -turn Signal Upgrade and the Petaluma 2010 Various
Streets Rehabilitation Projects will benefit the City residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Petaluma hereby:

1. Approves the proposed use of Proposition 1 B Local Streets and Roads Improvement
Funds.
2. Resolves that a certified copy of this resolution and its attachments, and any
accompanying supporting materials shall be made available to the State Department
of Finance.
3. Amends the Fiscal Year 2009-10 Adopted Budget to include the Protected Left -turn
Signal Upgrade and the Petaluma 2010 Various Streets Rehabilitation Projects.
4. Authorizes the transfer of $49,000 from project C00501108 Crinella Drive
Rehabilitation to project C16101006 Protected Left -Turn Signal Upgrade Project.
5. Authorizes the transfer of $63,000 from project C00501108 Crinella Drive
Rehabilitation to C16101007 Petaluma 2010 Various Street Rehabilitation.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
