HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2003-168 N.C.S. 08/18/2003~Zesolution No. 2003-168 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California NAMING THE 9-ACRE PARK LOCATED AS PART OF THE MAGNOLIA PLACE SUBDIVISION "MANNION KNOLL" WHEREAS, Mission Valley Properties is developing a subdivision called Magnolia Place; and, WHEREAS, as part of the subdivision Mission Valley Properties will be dedicating anine-acre park to the City of Petaluma; and, WHEREAS, Mission Valley Properties initiated a contest with local schools to create a name for the proposed park; and, WHEREAS, six contest entries were received, and the Recreation, Music and Parks Commission, after evaluating all entries, is making a recommendation to the City Council; and, WHEREAS, Saint Vincent's High School student Angelica Pritchard submitted a recommendation to name the proposed park after Historian Ed Mannion; and, WHEREAS, the Recreation, Music and Parks Commission has determined that the recommendation of Ms. Angelica Pritchard is the selection of choice. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Petaluma City Council hereby designates the name of the nine-acre park to be located at the Magnolia Place Subdivision to be "Mannion Knoll." Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
