AUTHORIZING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. TO ACT AS'THE
ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FOR AB 2185, HAZARDOUS:MATERIALS:
RESPONSE PLANS AND INVENTORY CONTROL IN THE
CITY OF PETALUMA
WHEREAS, the fire department is normally the first responder on the
scene of a hazardous materials incident expected to take immediate
corrective action; and
WHEREAS; the need for accurate, up-dated information concerning the
actual materials encountered at an incident is obvious; and
WHEREAS, to leave hazardous materials which must be dealt with
during emergencies, unregulated, would inhibit our ability to protect the
public;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Petaluma Fire
Department shall be designated as the enforcement agency of the regulations
outlined in AB 2185, the Hazardous Materials: Release Response Plans and
Inventory Control Bill.
