S, of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION AMENDING CLASSIFICATION PLAN TO ESTABLISH A NEW POSITION CLASSIFICATION OF BUSINESS LICENSE CLERK AND DESIGNATING IT TO UN-IT 5 (CLERICAL) BE IT RESOLVED that the Classification Plan and Compensation Plan as originally adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 6118 N.C.S., as amended, and the classification titles and specifications as adopted by Resolution No. 7054 N.C.S., are hereby amended by establishing a classification of Business License Clerk, (as attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof) . BE IT FURTHER ~ RESOLVED that this action is taken pursuant to Personnel Code 2.04.02:0 and Personnel Rules and Regulations (Rule IV, Section 5) for classifications included in the. ~ Competitive Service of the Personnel System, that the notice of this action has been properly posted and that the City Manager .recommends this action. NOW THEREFORE., -BE IT RESOLVED that the. Resolution No. 7054 N . C . S. , as amended, is hereby amended to •inciude establishment of the. classification of Business License Clerk and assigning this classification to Unit 5 (Clerical) , effective April 15, 1986. Under the power and authority conferred upon thisrCouncil by the Charter of,said City. Examples- of Duties Administer office practices, rules and procedures involved in enforcement of the City's business license. ordinance; respond to oral and written inquiries and advise proprietors regarding licensing procedures -and, laws; review and investigate business .license applications,. determine kind of license required and compute fees; cheeks peddlars, solicitors, itinerant vendors and delivery vehicles from. out of town doing business within the City; .research media .for information regarding new businesses,. send letters to businesses, professional people and others regarding violations; prepare legal documents and at~pear in Small Claims Court when necessary; represent Citv to CMBTA Association; Arranges for administer and implement re assessment district; maintain calls on occasion; maintain u~ between City a.nd Paying A€ district payments received funds;respond to inquiries owners, title companies and ~ checks for payment of bonds audit and. record. cash rece billing and other revenue acti rentals, municipal airport., sw taxi cab permits and badges a Knowledge And Abilities annual renewal of business licenses.
