WHEREAS , by letter of April 6 , 1966 , De Leuw, Lather & Company did

make a proposal to the D'itector of Public Works to perform certain
engineering studies in connection with the Washington Street Bridge, and,

WHEREAS this Council finds that the 'said studies are necessary and
that the Department of Pubt`ic ,IWorks does not,•at this time, have the Man-
power to perform the required: studies; and,
WHEREAS the Director of. Public Works has .recommended the employment

NOW; .THEREFORE , EE IT' RESOLVED that the, mayor. be , and she is: hereby
authorized to execute an agreement with De Leuw, Cather & 'Company for the

performance of engineering studies for the teplacement' of_ the Washington -

Street Bridge ,' the studies. and the cost thereof to be in accordance with
De Leuw, Cather & 'Company letter of April 6 , 1966.
