APPROVING APPLICATION FOR AND ACCEPTANCE OF FEDERAL AVIATION
ADMINISTRATION (FAA) AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (AIP) 21 FY 10/11
GRANT FUNDING, AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO SIGN GRANT
DOCUMENTS, AND APPROVING A GRANT MATCH FROM THE AIRPORT FUND
WHEREAS, the Airport's Capital Improvement Program FY 2010/2011 is projected to
cost $55,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma is eligible for a Federal Aviation Administration
Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant of $52,250.00, requiring a 5% local match of
$2,750.00; and,
WHEREAS, it is proposed that the AIP-21 FY 10/11 entitlement grant be used to
purchase and install a pilot controlled lighting system, recommended by the Petaluma Airport
Commission as an expense -reducing item, rehabilitation of the rotating beacon, and
implementation of an Airport pavement management system (APMS); and,
WHEREAS, at its December 3, 2009 meeting, the Petaluma Airport Commission
approved application for the FAA AIP-21 grant; and,
budget.
WHEREAS, the remaining local match will be identified in the Airport's FY 10/11
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Petaluma:
1. Approves application for and acceptance of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Airport Improvement Program (AIP) 21 FY 10/11 grant funding in the amount of
$52,250.00.
2. Authorizes City Manger to sign the grant documents.

3. Approves a local grant match of $2,750.00 from the Airport Fund —
Admin/Operations.
