HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2010-052 N.C.S. 04/05/2010Resolution No. 2010-052 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California APPROVING THE 2010-2015 CONSOLIDATED PLAN STRATEGY FOR THE CITY OF PETALUMA WHEREAS the City of Petaluma is considered an entitlement jurisdiction under the Community Development Block Grant Program and applies directly to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for funds; and, WHEREAS there is a requirement to submit to HUD, every five years, a Consolidated Plan Strategy, which serves both as a strategic plan for allocating funding for projects and programs for low and moderate income people and as a funding application; and, WHEREAS the City of Petaluma has implemented citizen participation techniques to offer ample opportunity and encouragement of participation by interested citizens, service delivery agencies and their clients, other governmental entities, and elected officials through a series of public hearings and forums; and, WHEREAS all comments, questions, and suggestions were considered as valuable input to the process; and, WHEREAS the City Council finds that the 2010-2015 Consolidated Plan outlines affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization, and community development strategies which contribute to the well-being and improvement of the lives of our low and moderate income residents and the quality of life in our community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Petaluma City Council approves the 2010-2015 Consolidated Plan and directs staff to submit the document to HUD in a timely fashion. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
