BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA: 1 . That pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Unin- habited Territory Act of 19394 a petition signed by owners of all the here- inafter described territory, by area and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Sonoma, was filed with the Council of the City of Petaluma. on the 10th day of August, 1966 , requesting annexation of the hereinafter described territory of said City. 2 . That the territory which the: petitioners request be annex- ed to the City of Petaluma and which said City and its Council proposes to annex, is situate in the County of Sonoma, State, of California, hereby des- ignated "Northeast Annexation No. 6" and described. as follows: Being a portion of Lots 225 and 226' Of Petaluma Rancho as shown on Rowes: Maps and recorded in Book 21 of Maps., on Page 1, Sonoma County Records, and being a portion of the lands of. John and Elsie Corry as recorded in Official Re- cords Book 1077 on Page 467 , Sonoma County Records and more particularly described as follows : Beginning_,at the most southerly corner of the lands of Corry, said point also being the most westerly corner of the lands of the Old Adobe Union School as recorded in Official Records Book .1822 on page 577 , Sonoma County . Records; thence N54° 34 ' 48'"W,, 443 . 19 :feet to the most westerly corner of the lands of Lorry;; thence along the westerly line of said lands of Corry. N3''4° 51 ' 12'E, 889 . 02 feet and N2O° 15 ' 72 "E, 280. 83 feet to the northerly cor- ner of the lands of Corry; thence S54° 36 ' 26'E, 513 . 35 feet ; thence N35'° 27 ' SO"E , 487 ..08 feet to the southwesterly side of Ely Road; thence S54° 34 ' 38"E; 13 . 00 feet along the southwesterly side 'of Ely Road; thence leaving said road $35° 224 5'.0"-W, 164'7. 36 feet along the easterly line of the lands, of Corry, said line common to the lands of Madeline Terrebellini as recorded in Book 1313 at page 483 Official Records of Sonoma County and the Old Adobe Union School as recorded in Book 1864 at page 56 and Book 1822 at page 577 , Official Records Of Sonoma County, to the point of beginning. Containing 12 . 32 acres more or less. • -1- C -2 3;. That the LOCai .Agency Annexation Commission did in session duly assembled on August' 4,, 196',6:, consider the proposed annexation bound ar .e's of said "Northeast Annexation No .. 6" as above described, and sub- mitted to said Commission by the proponents of said Annexation. 4 . That Tuesday, the 6th day of. September, 1966 , at the hour of 7 : 30 o ' clock p.m. , in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of Petaluma , County of Sonoma, .California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person having any ob 'edt ons, to the proposed annex- ation may appear before, the Council of the City of Petaluma and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to the City of Pet- aluma. The protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected and the des- cription and area of such ,property, in general terms . 5 . The City ' Clerk of the City of Petaluma is hereby author- ized and directed to cause a copy of this reso'lut en to be published at least once a week in the Argus-Courier , a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Petaluma, the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, said publication to be. complete at least four days prior to the date set for hearing . 6 . In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is owned by a County, the City Clerk is directed to Cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such county, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days be- fore the first public hearing oh the proposed annexation. 7 . In the event there is , upon the land proposed to be annexed to said City, a structural improvement .owned, being acquired or leased by a county fire protection .district., the City Clerk is directed to cause written .notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the governing body Of such district , such notice to be sent not less than ten ('10) days before the first public heating upon sUth proposed annexation. -2- • • 8 . `the City ,C1'erk is tdirected, to ,cause. written notice to be giv.,en to such other persons as may 'legally- entitled thereto, in. the manner required by law. * _*. * * * -*. * * .1 hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was, duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Cbuncil Of the City of Petaluma , on the 15th day of Angns - , 1966 , by the following vote AYES : COUNCILMEN BATTAGLIA, BRA NERD, CAVANAGH,JR.. , COLIN, JOERGER, LIPMAN AND MAYOR P..UTNAM-: NOES : NONE.
