Coleman, 'Planning Director, has sub- mitted his resignation on April 18, 1961, the said resignation to be effective May 19, 1961, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Petaluma .regretfully'accepts the resignation of Richard H. Coleman as Planning Director. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this City Council on its behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Petaluma who are so personally affected by the efforts of the planning department expresses its deep appreciation for the excellent work done by Mr. Coleman in the position of Planning Director. The office of Planning Director was first held by Mr, •Coleman and it is to be noted that, during his tenure, plan- ning for the City of Petaluma has made great strides and has resulted in the development of a new proposed Petaluma Area General Plan which is expected to be a practical and use- ' ful guide in the development of this City. Without the impetus given to this plan by Mr, Coleman it is doubtful that it would have become so close to being a reality. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this City Council expresses to Mr. Coleman its sincere hope that hisrcnew position will be a pleasant one and further expresses its sincere desire that he have continued success in his chosen field. The City Clerk is directed to give a certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Coleman, under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
