HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2014-034 N.C.S. 3/3/2014 Resolution No. 2014-034 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California ACCEPTING FEDERAL JOB ACCESS AND REVERSE COMMUTE (JARC) AND NEW FREEDOM GRANTS, AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE GRANT RELATED DOCUMENTS, AND AUTHORIZING INCLUSION OF THE NECESSARY BUDGET ADJUSTMENT IN THE MID-YEAR BUDGET ADJUSTMENT ORDINANCE WHEREAS, in April 2012, the City of Petaluma submitted two applications to Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and Caltrans for FTA Section 5316 Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) funding in the amounts of$37,533 to extend evening service hours and $16,000 to establish a Latino Outreach Program, and funding has been awarded; and, WHEREAS, in April 2012, the City of Petaluma submitted an application to Caltrans for FTA Section 5317 New Freedoms funding in the amount of$42,470 to continue to provide travel training, and funding has been awarded for both projects; and, WHEREAS, the funding for the local match for the two JARC projects is available from Transit operating funds, and there is no local match required for this New Freedoms grant; and, WHEREAS, the City has been notified by Caltrans and Federal Transit Authority (FTA) that it has competed successfully for these funds and the funding has been awarded to the City for all three projects. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Petaluma: 1. Approves acceptance of FTA Section 5316 JARC funding in the amounts of$37,533 and $16,000; and, 2. Approves acceptance of FTA Section 5317 New Freedoms funding in the amount of $42,470; and, 3. Approves a total local grant match of$53,533 from TDA Transit operating funds; and, 4. Authorizes the City Manager to execute grant related documents for said grants. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
