RECOMMENDATION: Approval BACKGROUND The Parks and Recreation Department plans,.publicizes, recruits and hires staff' for the 'slmmeT' program during the spring ea:ch year. In order for funding to continue the program past June 30, 1985, the Parks and Recreation Department prepares a siurmer program_for City Council approva.l and funding'~~in April to a11ow :sufficient. tine ~to pla.n programs, fiir.e staff and~ publicize the prograrns.
