leisure/recreation programs for the 1985 summex.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval
BACKGROUND The Parks and Recreation Department plans,.publicizes, recruits and
hires staff' for the 'slmmeT' program during the spring ea:ch year. In order for
funding to continue the program past June 30, 1985, the Parks and Recreation
Department prepares a siurmer program_for City Council approva.l and funding'~~in April
to a11ow :sufficient. tine ~to pla.n programs, fiir.e staff and~ publicize the prograrns.
These.programs are also part of the annual Program of Service which is pr.esented
wi.th the budget request. ~
ALTERNArIVES: 1) Programs end June 30, 1985 and new means of providing services
~ must be found.
2} Delay progranming until Budget is approved.

admission,fee would,combine the previous categories of
YOUTH (?-12), .75 and ADULT (13' & up), $1:00 into one
category, GENERAL ADMISSI;ON, $'1.00. Th;e 'DISABLED fee, $.50
