AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
SIX 2003 FORD CLASS-E POLICE INTERCEPTOR PATROL VEHICLES
FROM DOWNTOWN FORD IN THE AMOUNT OF $186,089.60
WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma Police Department identified a requirement for seven
new vehicles under the 2002-2003 vehicle replacement program; and,
WHEREAS, six of the vehicles are patrol vehicles; and,
WHEREAS, the State of California has a contract for police patrol vehicles with
Downtown Ford of Sacramento; and,
WHEREAS, Police Department staff requested the six patrol vehicles, five black and
white vehicles and one all white vehicle, be purchased under the State of California contract in
order to receive and place the vehicles in service as soon as possible; and,
WHEREAS, approval was granted to purchase the vehicles under the State of California
contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the
purchase of six 2003 Ford Class-E patrol vehicles from Downtown Ford in the amount of
$186,089.60.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
