UPHOLDING THE APPEAL FROM PIERRE MIREMONT
REGARDING HIS REQUEST TO PLACE ADVERTISEMENTS
ON CITY OF PETALUMA BUSES
WHEREAS, on July 5, 2002, the City Manager denied Pierre Miremont's request
to place a proposed political cartoon/advertisement regarding the condition of City streets
on City of Petaluma buses; and,
WHEREAS, on July 26, 2002, Mr. Miremont submitted a letter of appeal to the
CityManager indicating he was denied his First Amendment rights and requesting that
the matter be heard by the Petaluma City Council; and,
WHEREAS, at their meeting of September 9, 2002, the Petaluma City Council
considered the appeal submitted by Pierre Miremont.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of
Petaluma does hereby uphold the appeal of Pierre Miremont, allowing him to process his
political advertisement through Petaluma Transit Advertising.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
