1 - Confidential, Unit 2 - Maintenance, Unit 3 - Clerical/Technical; and Local
1415 International Association of Fire Fighters, Unit 7
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council designate Human Resources Director, Dianne
Dinsmore, and reconfirm Assistant City Manager, Scott Brodhun, as its labor negotiators for
Units AFSCME Unit 1 - Confidential, Unit 2 - Maintenance, Unit 3 - Clerical/Technical; Local
1415 International Association of Fire Fighters, Unit 7.
DISCUSSION
Government Code section 54957.6 states: "[P]rior to the closed session, the legislative body of
the local agency shall hold an open and public session in which it identifies its designated
representatives." This item has provided so that the City Council can make the recommended
designations, prior to going into closed session, and to facilitate bargaining with AFSCME Units
1,2, and 3, and Local 1415 International Association of Fire Fighters, Unit 7.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Staff time associated with the positions designated as the City's labor negotiators is budgeted in
the General Fund. There are no other financial impacts identified with the recommended action
at the present time.
