MA:cw ~-2~-83 of the City of Petaluma,California RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE JOB DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSISTANT LITY MANAGER WHEREAS the City Manager as the Personnel Officer of the City has submitted to the Council a revised job description for the classification Assistant City Manager in order to bring it into.conformity with the present work assignments, and WHEREAS, the Council finds that the notice has been posted as required by law, NOW, THEREFORE, BCE IT RESOLVED that the j_ob description of the Assistant City Manager is hereby revised to establish the duties in accordance with the description in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. and. made a part hereof. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Reso Nation No .: 6118 N.C.S. be, and the same is hereby amended to reflect the job classification attached hereto. Under the. conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City. M Assistant City Manager Definition Subject to administrative direction, to assist in the coordination and direction of City Administration through the development of programs, policies, and plans related to all facets of City government; and to do related work as required. Example of Duties Identify policy goals and objectives; identify existing physical, policy, budgetary, and attitudinal constraints and parameters; develop alternative means of achieving goals and objectives for City programs and policies; evaluate alternatives to determine benefits and liabilities by the application of statistical tests such as cost benefit analysis and revenue projections; coordinate and monitor the development of City programs with Department Heads and other relevant individuals such as the California State Legislature, the United States Congress and, their attendant agencies; represent the City Manager and/or the City in a wide variety of meetings and conferences; assume the duties of City Manager in the absence of the City Manager.
