HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2014-129 N.C.S. 8/4/2014Resolution No. 2014-129 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California APPROVING APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FOR THE AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM AIP-24 FY 13/14 GRANT FUNDING AND TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CALTRANS DIVISION OF AERONAUTICS FOR A 5% GRANT MATCH, AND AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDING FROM BOTH AGENCIES AND EXECUTE ALL GRANT RELATED DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma and the Federal Aviation Administration are parties to federal Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant 3-06-0186-24 for the Runway 11-29 Pavement Rehabilitation and Overlay for the Petaluma Municipal Airport; and, WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation, pursuant to the Public Utilities Code section 21683.1, provides grants of 5% of Federal Aviation Administration grants to airports; and, WHEREAS, at its February 6, 2014 meeting the Petaluma Airport Commission recommended using this year's AIP 24 grant funding Runway Pavement Rehabilitation and Overlay; and, WHEREAS, the projected cost of the above project is $737,516 of which the FAA grant portion (90%) is $663,764 and the Cal Trans match is $33,188 and, WHEREAS, the remaining local match of $40,564 is identified in the Airport CIP budget for FY 14/15; and, WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation requires the Petaluma City Council, to adopt a resolution authorizing the submission of an application for an AIP Matching grant. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Petaluma City Council, of the County of Sonoma, State of California: 1. Authorizes filing an application for a state AIP Matching grant and an FAA AIP 24 Grant for this project 2. Authorizes accepting the allocation of state AIP Matching funds and FAA AIP 24 grant funds for the project. Resolution No. 2014-129 N.C.S. Page I 3. Authorizes execution of an AIP Matching Grant Agreement and an FAA AIP 24 Grant Agreement for this project; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Petaluma City Council of the County of Sonoma does hereby authorize the City Manager, to sign any documents required to apply for and accept these subject funds on behalf of the City of Petaluma. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
