S. of the City of Petaluma, California A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT .FOR THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE' SITE SELECTION COMMITTEE FOR -THE PROPOSED_ PE,TALUMA CENTER OF THE 'SA'NTA ROSA JUNIOR COLLEGE WHEREAS, the Site Selection Committee for the proposed Petaluma Center of the Santa Rosa Junior College was .comprised of a cross section of representatives from the Petaluma Area. including representation from the Petaluma City Council; and, WHEREAS, the Committee was charged. with recommending "up to three locations with an ;analysis for each in,. which a permanent major off -campus center may be developed"; and, WHEREAS, the Committee met over the course of three months to evaluate potential sites in the Petaluma area which met the basic criteria for such a site established by the Junior College Board; and, WHEREAS, the Committee initially considered, some 29 sites which, after careful evaluation were reduced to eleven possible sites and further to seven sites grouped in "three locations; and, WHEREAS, the Committee has unanimously recommended the three locations; labeled as areas. -A, B and C; and e.ndeavored'..to supply the Board. with a complete analysis of each area; and, WHEREAS, the- Committee `likewise ',unanimously affirmed its full support for establishment of a "major off -campus center". in Petaluma; and, WHEREAS, the Site Selection Committee's recommendations have been forwarded to the Petaluma City Council for consideration. City Clerk NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Petaluma urges the Junior College board to proceed apace to establish the long needed permanent home for a major Junior College facility in Petaluma; and, NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Petaluma is in full support of Site Selection Committee's recommendations and will to its fullest extent support the Junior College Board's final choice for the .location of the new Petaluma Center. 0 Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council' by the, Charter of ,said City. plan6 siteI hereby certify the foregoing Resolution was introduced and adopted by the selection Council of the City of Petaluma at a (Regular) (dAJa=X) meeting on the ........
