RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF MOBILE HOME
LEGISLATION SB 900 AND AB 1111
WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma has supported the mobile home park residents since 1994
when the City Council adopted a Petaluma Mobile Home Park Rent Stabilization Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council remains constantly vigilant in supporting legislation which
protects and enhances the quality of life of our mobile home park residents; and
WHEREAS, AB 11.11 would allow local agencies with a mobilehome park in their jurisdiction
to have the authority to prohibit park management -from amending the park's rules and regulations which
limit residency/tenancy to individuals who are 55 years of age or older, thereby allowing. cities to
determine what type of residency would best fit the needs of their local community; and
WHEREAS, SB 900 would eliminate unintended loopholes in existing legislation and would
continue to allow local rent control ordinances to keep mobilehomes at an affordable rate for those on a
fixed income.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Petaluma does
hereby reaffirm its continued support of our mobilehome park residents and supports
SB 900 and AB 1111.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
