HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2002-075 N.C.S. 05/20/2002 Resolution No. 2002-075 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT FEDERAL AND SCHOOL DISTRICT FUNDING FOR ONE FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER TO WORK AS A SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER WITH THE PETALUMA JOINT UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT, THE WAUGH SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND THE OLD ADOBE SCHOOL DISTRICT UNDER A FEDERAL COPS IN SCHOOLS GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) has made Federal Funds available to the City of Petaluma under the COPS in School Grant Program for the purpose of addressing truancy, drug and alcohol offenses, and crimes against persons at school campuses in the City of Petaluma; and, WHEREAS, the Federal Grant Funds must be used in all of the purpose areas specified by the grant documents. NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED by the City Council that the City Manager is authorized to accept Federal and Supplemental Funding from the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) and three School Districts, to fund one full-time School Resource Officer position for three years. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
